The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
has announced the release of results for candidates who sat for the 2026
Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Fabian
Benjamin, the board said candidates can now check their results by sending
“UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the phone number registered for
the exam.
JAMB clarified that, for now, candidates can only view
their results, as printing of official result slips has not yet been activated.
The board also noted that the UTME exercise is still
ongoing, adding that more results will be released in batches as marking and
processing continue.
At the same time, JAMB issued a strong warning against
any attempt to manipulate or falsify results. It cautioned candidates against
altering SMS messages to misrepresent their scores to parents or others.
Describing such actions as a serious offence, the
board revealed that enforcement actions have already begun, with two candidates
and one parent currently in custody over alleged result falsification using
digital tools, including artificial intelligence.
JAMB emphasized that anyone found guilty of such
misconduct will face legal consequences and urged all candidates to maintain
honesty and follow official procedures as part of efforts to ensure a
transparent and credible admissions process.
