The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
has issued a warning to the public regarding fraudulent messages circulating
about the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). These
messages, which instruct candidates to reprint examination slips for a supposed
resit, are not from JAMB and should be disregarded.
According to JAMB's Public Communication Advisor,
Fabian Benjamin, the deceptive messages are being disseminated through a
spoofed version of the board's official 66019 shortcode. These messages aim to
mislead candidates, some of whom have already completed their resit
examinations and received their results, into believing they need to reprint
slips for another exam.
JAMB has clarified that there are currently no
scheduled resit examinations. The only upcoming exams are the foreign
examinations to be held in nine countries across Europe, the Middle East, and
certain African nations. Additionally, a mop-up examination is planned for
candidates who missed the main and resit exams due to biometric issues or those
granted waivers.
Candidates and stakeholders are advised to ignore
these fraudulent messages and await official communication from JAMB regarding
any future examination schedules. The board emphasizes that any legitimate
updates will be communicated through its official channels
