A jury has ruled in favor of Tony Saxton in a lawsuit
against Ye, awarding $140,000 in compensation for unpaid wages and medical
expenses. The case involved Saxton’s work on Ye’s former Malibu estate, though
the amount is far less than the $1.7 million initially sought.
Saxton claimed he was hired as a project manager to
oversee construction on Ye’s $57 million Malibu property but was dismissed
after roughly seven weeks, receiving only one payment during his employment. He
also alleged unsafe working conditions and wrongful termination.
During the trial, Ye testified, appearing somewhat
disengaged and stating he had only a vague recollection of Saxton and was
unsure who had formally hired him for the project. Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori,
also testified, confirming she worked with Saxton briefly during the project.
The jury’s verdict concludes the legal dispute,
granting Saxton compensation while awarding significantly less than the damages
he had originally requested.
