The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old woman, Charity Williams, alleged girlfriend of a suspected armed robber, Christopher Christopher-Kadiri, in a major crackdown on crime in the state.

The arrest took place at a hotel in Okene Local Government Area, following a raid at Yuwander Lodge, Oguda village, after police received a tip-off about a suspected criminal hideout.

During the operation, police recovered a locally made Beretta pistol, six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, ?2.04 million in cash, an axe, hard drugs, and four mobile phones from the lodge room booked by Christopher-Kadiri.

The state command’s spokesperson, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, confirmed the development, adding that the prime suspect, Christopher-Kadiri, is still at large but being trailed by operatives.

In a separate operation, police officers from the Ofu Division recovered a locally made barrel gun, a cutlass, and a Tecno phone at Ogbakpedo village along the Itobe–Ayingba road. The items were abandoned by suspected kidnappers who fled upon sighting the patrol team.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Miller Dantawaye, commended the operatives for their swift action and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring safety.

“We remain resolute in our fight against criminality in Kogi State,” he stated.
