The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu
Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as
the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
The outgoing spokesman, DCO Olumuyiwa Adejobi,
confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja.
Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator, holds a BA in
English Language from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal
Criminology & Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He
also earned a certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin
Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre,
Jaji, Kaduna.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of
Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations
Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of
Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
CSP Hundeyin has served in several key positions,
including as the Police PRO at Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos; Administration
Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Abuja; and a contingent in
the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. Until his
new role, he was the spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command.
The IGP charged him to leverage his vast
communications and security experience to strengthen police–public relations
and enhance the Force’s image.
