The Kwankwasiyya Movement has revealed that its leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is set to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signaling a major shift in Nigeria’s political space.

According to a statement issued by the group, Kwankwaso is expected to officially register with the party on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence in Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Kano.

The development has prompted the movement to urge its supporters across the country to also align with the ADC at ward, local government, and state levels.

Speaking on the decision, spokesperson Habibu Sale Mohammed said the move is rooted in a commitment to strengthening democratic values and promoting inclusive governance.

He explained that the step reflects the broader interests of supporters and is aimed at ensuring leadership that truly represents the aspirations of the people.

The movement emphasised that safeguarding democracy and respecting the will of citizens remain key priorities behind the decision.
