The Kwankwasiyya Movement has revealed that its
leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is set to join the African Democratic Congress
(ADC), signaling a major shift in Nigeria’s political space.
According to a statement issued by the group,
Kwankwaso is expected to officially register with the party on Monday, March
30, 2026, at his residence in Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Kano.
The development has prompted the movement to urge its
supporters across the country to also align with the ADC at ward, local
government, and state levels.
Speaking on the decision, spokesperson Habibu Sale
Mohammed said the move is rooted in a commitment to strengthening democratic
values and promoting inclusive governance.
He explained that the step reflects the broader
interests of supporters and is aimed at ensuring leadership that truly
represents the aspirations of the people.
The movement emphasised that safeguarding democracy
and respecting the will of citizens remain key priorities behind the decision.
