A senior Iranian police commander reportedly begged an Israeli Mossad agent for assistance in overthrowing the Islamic Republic, according to a leaked phone call reported by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, March 18.

The call is part of a series of communications by Israeli intelligence warning Iranian security officials and their families that they would face dire consequences if they did not step aside during a potential uprising.

“We know everything about you. You are on our blacklist, and we have all the information about you,” the Mossad agent told the commander in Farsi. “I called to warn you in advance that you should stand with your people’s side. And if you will not do that, your destiny will be as your leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei]. Do you hear me?”

The commander responded, “Brother, I swear on the Koran, I’m not your enemy. I’m a de@d man already. Just please come help us.”

Since February 28, the U.S. and Israel have reportedly sought to weaken the Iranian regime. The U.S. has focused on Iran’s military and industrial infrastructure, while Israel has targeted key regime personnel, including Ayatollah Khamenei, police officials, and other security leaders. According to the Journal, Israeli forces have dropped approximately 10,000 munitions, including over 2,200 strikes against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Basij paramilitary, and other internal security forces. Thousands of Iranians are believed to have been killed or wounded, though precise figures are unavailable.

By March 6, Israeli strikes had reportedly killed hundreds of Iranian military and security members who had gathered at sports complexes used as fallback facilities. The attacks have forced some security personnel to sleep in their cars or inside mosques.

Recently, Israel has intensified targeted drone strikes against Basij roadblocks and other positions in Tehran and other cities, reportedly guided by civilian tips. On May 13, Mossad’s Farsi-language X account warned Iranians to “Avoid Basij gatherings. All of them, whether in the streets or in their homes, are potential targets,” followed three days later by a statement claiming, “Your final battle will begin soon. We are with you in the sky, on earth, and in our hearts.”

This leaked call and the ongoing strikes highlight the increasing pressure on Iranian security forces amid a campaign targeting both infrastructure and regime personnel.
