Spanish giants Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are
reportedly preparing for a fierce transfer battle over Super Eagles striker
Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer 2026 transfer window.
Both clubs have stepped up their interest in the
Nigerian forward, who has continued to impress since completing a permanent
move to Galatasaray. Osimhen has been in outstanding form, playing a key role
in the club’s domestic and European campaigns with his strength, movement, and
consistent goal scoring.
Reports from Turkish outlet Fotomaç suggest that Real
Madrid are considering Osimhen as the ideal classic centre-forward to lead
their attack. The plan would allow Kylian Mbappé to operate more freely on the
left wing, his preferred position.
However, any potential deal is expected to be costly,
with Galatasaray reportedly valuing the striker at around €100 million. The
Spanish club is said to be assessing possible player sales to balance finances
before making a move.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona are also monitoring the
situation closely as they search for a long-term replacement for veteran
striker Robert Lewandowski. The Catalan side sees Osimhen as a leading
candidate to spearhead their attack in the coming years, although financial
limitations could make competition with Real Madrid difficult.
Despite growing speculation, Galatasaray president
Dursun Özbek has stressed that Osimhen’s contract does not include a
straightforward release clause, meaning any interested club would need to
negotiate a substantial transfer fee to secure his signature.
