Rwanda will host the prestigious FIFA Series at
the newly renovated Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, underscoring the nation’s
growing status as a key sports destination in East Africa.
The FIFA Series comprises friendly international
matches organized by football’s global governing body, providing national teams
with opportunities to compete against opponents from other continents—a chance
often limited by travel and financial constraints.
By staging the tournament, Rwanda will offer
participating teams a platform to gain exposure, improve competitiveness, and
build experience ahead of major competitions, including World Cup qualifiers.
The Amahoro Stadium, which recently underwent
extensive upgrades to meet international standards, will serve as the main
venue for all matches. FIFA is expected to announce further details, including
participating teams and fixtures, in the coming months.
