Broadcaster Piers Morgan
engaged in a heated exchange with Mark Epstein, brother of late financier Jeffrey
Epstein, during an interview about the circumstances surrounding
Epstein’s death.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored,
Mark Epstein claimed that an upcoming report by a group of pathologists will
challenge the official ruling that his brother died by suicide in 2019. The New
York City medical examiner previously determined that Epstein took his own life
while in custody.
Mark alleged that independent medical experts
reviewing the autopsy findings are preparing a peer-reviewed report that will
conclude suicide “could not have been possible.” He insisted the findings would
“conclusively show it was not a suicide,” raising further questions about who
may have been responsible for his brother’s death.
He also claimed there were irregularities in
the investigation, alleging that the pathologist who conducted the autopsy was
discouraged from collecting DNA evidence and barred from visiting the scene.
Mark further alleged that the FBI lost information after switching out hard
drives, despite warnings not to do so.
“There is more and more facts,” he said. “If
this was a suicide it would be pretty simple. Why all the games?”
The interview comes amid renewed public
attention following the reported release of documents related to Epstein’s
criminal case by US Attorney General Pam Bondi, including
files containing names of public figures connected to the disgraced financier.
However, Mark Epstein distanced himself from
the contents of the files, stating he does not comment on matters unrelated to
his brother’s death. He said he had not seen Jeffrey in person for seven years
before his death, though they remained in contact by phone and email. He also
said many of the revelations about his brother’s activities had come as a
surprise to him.
Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on
federal charges of sex trafficking minors but died in his jail cell before
standing trial.
The interview ended abruptly after Morgan
pressed Mark on whether he cared about the victims linked to his brother’s
crimes. Mark declined to answer and ended the call, prompting Morgan to
describe the exchange as “extraordinary.”
