Security forces in Borno State have arrested a
suspected kidnapper during an operation at a local market in Kaga Local
Government Area.
The operation was carried out by troops of the 29 Task
Force Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force
(CJTF), following credible intelligence.
Arrest Made in Benisheikh Market
The suspect, identified as Chari Modu, was apprehended
on March 30, 2026, at the Benisheikh market.
According to security sources, the arrest was based on
actionable intelligence that led operatives to the suspect’s location.
Weapon and Items Recovered
During the operation, security personnel recovered an
AK-47 rifle, along with a magazine and a small amount of cash.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities confirmed that the suspect and the
recovered items have been taken into custody.
Further investigations are underway to determine the
suspect’s involvement in criminal activities and to uncover any possible
network.
