Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have neutralised four
suspected terrorists during a coordinated ambush in the Sambisa Forest axis of
Borno State.
The operation, carried out in the early hours of April
30, involved troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade working alongside local
vigilante groups.
According to military sources, the troops acted on
credible intelligence and positioned themselves at a suspected crossing point
known as “Charlie Five,” where insurgents were believed to be moving through.
The terrorists were reportedly advancing from the Yale
axis toward Sambisa Forest when they encountered the troops, who engaged them
with superior firepower.
Following the exchange, four suspects were killed.
During a subsequent search of the area, troops recovered an AK-47 rifle along
with 12 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
Additional items recovered included two bags of ground
maize and a pack of spaghetti, believed to be part of the group’s food
supplies.
The military confirmed that all personnel involved in
the operation returned safely without casualties. Surveillance and clearance
efforts are ongoing in the area to prevent further insurgent activity.
Authorities added that the overall security situation
in the region remains stable, with troops maintaining strong morale and
operational readiness.
