Nigerian troops have successfully repelled an
attempted terrorist attack on a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bukuyyum Local
Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to counter-insurgency publication Zagazola
Makama, the attack occurred at about 2:45 p.m. on Thursday when suspected
terrorists attempted to infiltrate the military base at FOB Gwashi.
The troops reportedly responded with superior
firepower, engaging the attackers in a fierce gun battle and forcing them to
abandon the assault and flee the area.
Following the encounter, reinforcement troops from the
Forward Operating Bases in Gummi and Bukuyyum were swiftly deployed to
strengthen security at the location and support ongoing clearance operations.
According to the report, troops have since intensified
