The accident occurred at kilometer 65 of the A-52, at
the height of the Zamora region of Sanabria.
The Liverpool player died when the vehicle in which he
was traveling with his brother André, 26 years old and also a professional
soccer player, from Penafiel, suffered a road exit that triggered a fire.
According to witnesses who alerted 112, the car was
engulfed in flames, which also spread to the nearby vegetation.
