The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
has declared Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand
Alliance (APGA) winner of the 2025 Anambra State governorship election.
The election, which began on Saturday, concluded in
the early hours of Sunday with Soludo securing a landslide victory across the 21
local government areas of the state.
Announcing the results at the INEC collation centre in
Awka around 8:20 a.m., the State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the
University of Benin, Professor Omoregie Edoba, declared Soludo re-elected.
According to the official figures released by INEC, Soludo
polled 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.

With this result, Professor Edoba declared:
“Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand
Alliance, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest
number of valid votes cast, is hereby declared winner and returned elected.”
The re-election of Soludo marks a continuation of
APGA’s dominance in Anambra politics, with the governor set to serve a second
term in office.
