The Kano State Government has awarded contracts worth
over ?40.8 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of 17 township roads
across Gwale, Nasarawa, Kumbotso, Fagge, Kano Municipal, Tarauni, Dala, and
Ungogo LGAs.
Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Waiya, disclosed
this during a tour of completed and ongoing projects with NUJ National
President, Alhassan Yahaya.

Additionally, ?13.3 bn will fund the
Rogo-Bari-Falgore-Mahangi roads in Rogo LGA, while ?6.9 bn is allocated to the
Panda-Hamdullahi-Albasu-Salkwayan Dutse roads in Albasu LGA.
Waiya said the projects aim to improve connectivity,
ease congestion, boost commerce, and enhance the movement of goods from farms
to markets.
