A man has been arrested in Parkgate, KwaZulu-Natal,
South Africa, for allegedly stabbing his Zimbabwean friend multiple times
during a heated argument over an insult directed at his mother.
The incident occurred on Friday, November 14, 2025.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), emergency responders
were dispatched after receiving a distress call regarding a 42-year-old
Zimbabwean national who had been stabbed in the chest.
“Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics arrived at the
scene and found the injured man seated in the passenger seat of an Opel Corsa
bakkie. He was treated for three stab wounds to his chest,” RUSA said in a
statement.
The victim told officers that he had been drinking
with the suspect when an argument broke out. Believing the victim had insulted
his mother, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him
repeatedly.
Members of the community reportedly intervened and
assaulted the suspect, who then fled the scene.
RUSA officers later received information that the
suspect was hiding in a nearby bar. When officers arrived, the man attempted to
flee but was apprehended as he entered a local tavern.
The suspect was found heavily intoxicated and claimed
he could not remember where he had discarded the weapon used in the attack.
