The Plateau State Government has announced a further
relaxation of the curfew in Jos North Local Government Area following
noticeable improvements in the security situation.
The update was confirmed in a statement issued in Jos
by Joyce Ramnap, who explained that the decision came after consultations with
security agencies and a careful assessment of recent developments.
Under the revised directive, the curfew will now run
daily from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with the new schedule taking effect from
April 15, 2026.
Officials noted that the adjustment reflects growing
stability in the area and commended residents for their cooperation, which has
played a key role in restoring calm.
The government also encouraged citizens to remain
law-abiding and vigilant, urging them to report any suspicious activities to
the appropriate authorities.
Reaffirming its commitment, the state government
stated that it will continue working with security agencies to safeguard lives
and property, while striving to achieve a full return to normalcy across Jos
North and other affected areas.
