Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere, has
expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform well at the 2025 FIFA
U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team has been drawn into a
challenging group alongside France, Canada, and Samoa. Despite the tough
opposition, Olowookere believes the Flamingos are ready to rise to the
occasion.
“This is a tournament, a competition,” he said on the
Super Falcons Show. “We have to compete with all kinds of teams—whether they
are strong or weak. That’s the only way to become champions. No one hands you
the trophy without a fight.”
The Flamingos reached the quarter-finals in the
previous edition of the tournament held in the Dominican Republic, and
Olowookere is determined to guide them even further this time around.
