A 27-year-old man, Chukwuebuka Eweni, has been
arrested by New Orleans police for allegedly stabbing his father to death and
injuring his two sisters during a violent domestic incident on Pebble Street.
According to Punch, family members told local
outlet WWL Louisiana that the deceased, Samuel Eweni, was a
computer science professor at Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO).
Relatives also confirmed that the two injured victims were his daughters.
Family members described the attack as shocking and
unexpected, noting that the suspect had a history of mental illness but had
never shown violent behavior in the past.
WWL reports that one of the sisters has since been
discharged from the hospital, while the other remains admitted but is expected
to recover.
The New Orleans Police Department stated that Eweni
was located in Jefferson Parish, where he was detained and is currently
undergoing a medical evaluation while in law enforcement custody.
Police say the incident occurred around 9:59 p.m.
on November 11, 2025. Responding officers arrived to find an unresponsive
man suffering from fatal stab wounds and two other adult victims with non-fatal
injuries.
