Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Mallam
Yusuf Agbo, popularly known as Nobaga Giza, along with his first
wife in Nasarawa State.
The incident occurred late Friday night at their
family residence in Giza, located in the Keana Local Government Area
of the state.
A Facebook user, Dantala Kassim, confirmed the
abduction and appealed to the general public for prayers, solidarity, and any
credible information that could support security agencies in rescuing the
victims.
“Members of the public are strongly encouraged to
remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements or helpful information
to the nearest security formation.
We call on all relevant authorities to intensify efforts toward securing their
release and ensuring the safety of residents across the area,”
he wrote.
A community source, who preferred not to be named,
said fear has gripped the entire Giza community following the attack. He added
that many residents are fleeing the area, while others have turned to prayers
after numerous cases of abductions and killings in recent weeks.
“We have heard nothing. People are living in fear.
Many are relocating. We have resolved to take the challenge to God in prayers
because all attempts to stop these attacks have failed,”
he said.
This latest incident comes amid repeated reports of
raids on communities within Keana LGA, despite reassurances from the state
government that new security measures had been put in place to curb criminal
activities.
