British actor and Hollywood star, Idris Elba, has
described Lagos as “the most amazing city in the world,” commending its vibrant
energy and wealth of creative talent.
Speaking at the TIFF Tribute Awards, Elba reflected on
his recent experience filming Dust to Dreams in Lagos alongside singer
Seal, who, for the first time, performed using his Nigerian accent.
“Lagos, if you’ve never been, it’s the most amazing
place, city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,”
Elba said.
Of Sierra Leonean and Ghanaian heritage, the Golden
Globe-winning actor is one of the most celebrated names in Hollywood, with
three BAFTA nominations and six Emmy nominations. In 2016, he was listed among Time
magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
