The Assembly of Traditional Religion Worshippers (ATRWOS) in Ondo State has praised the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye III, for his bold and royal advocacy for the constitutional recognition of Isese, the indigenous spiritual tradition of the Yoruba people.

In a statement issued over the weekend, Prince Adeyinka Ojopagogo, Publicity Secretary of ATRWOS, commended the monarch’s “majestic and courageous voice,” describing it as a powerful call for justice and identity for traditional religion adherents.

“Your royal voice has thundered with ancestral wisdom and divine conviction, echoing across Yorubaland and beyond,” the statement read. “You have rekindled the sacred flame of our heritage, given honour to the gods of our land, and restored dignity to the custodians of tradition.”

Referencing Yoruba mythology, ATRWOS likened Oba Ogunoye’s stance to the legendary hero Oranmiyan, saying he stood “fearless and regal” in an age where modernity often seeks to silence ancestral spirituality.

“You have spoken in the spirit of truth (Otito), fairness (Ododo), and balance (Iwa),” the statement continued. “These are not mere royal proclamations but historic declarations that will awaken consciousness, inspire reforms, and remind the world that without roots, the tree withers.”

The group concluded with traditional praise:
“Kabiyesi o! Olowo ti s’oro, Oke ti gbo!”
(“The King has spoken, and the mountains have heard!”)

They added, “The ancestors are pleased, and the children of Isese are uplifted! May your reign be long, luminous, and legendary. May Olodumare and the Orisa continue to guide your path.”

ATRWOS also congratulated the monarch on his recent appointment as Chairman of the Ondo State Traditional Council, affirming their support and solidarity with his vision for cultural and spiritual inclusion.
